About the Artist - Cecilia B. Moore

"Both landscapes and the human figure are of great fascination to me, holding as they both do infinite varieties of shapes and colours. Sometimes intertwining – and becoming abstracted – sometimes fully abstract, and each with the possibilities of moving from the real to the abstract. Particularly intriguing is the combining of the two forms -- figures in landscape – while experimenting with various media: charcoal, graphite, pastel, oil pastel, oil-sticks, acrylic. Combining all provides strength, movement and dynamism. Having lived for many years in equatorial Africa I remain drawn to the effects of bright sunlight on landscape and buildings."
